Certification Programs
Certification is one part of a process called credentialing. It focuses specifically on the individual and is an indication of current competency in a specialized field.
Our certification programs are designed for those individuals who strive to elevate the field of local corrections. We now offer three certification programs including Certified Jail Manager (CJM), Certified Jail Officer (CJO), and Certified Correctional Trainer (CCT) which are valid for a period of four years.
To retain the designation, candidates must choose either the option of professional point accumulation or reexamination.
AJA Individual Membership is not required, however, AJA Individual Members are eligible for discounts on CJO, CJM and CCT application fees. IACTP Members are eligible for a discount on the CCT application fee.
These prestigious programs provide evidence to your colleagues and community that you have been tested and found to possess a high competency in these levels of corrections.
